We regularly develop and deliver training courses for professionals working with children who may have experienced trauma or who have additional needs. Our CPD courses are developed in-house by highly experienced clinical psychologists and psychological therapists, and always include an extensive evidence-base. We can also develop bespoke CPD courses dependent on the demand.

Preverbal Trauma: Webinar and Workshop

Research tells us that early trauma significantly affects the brain, particularly in the first few years of life. But how do babies and young children store these traumatic experiences when they haven’t developed language or explicit memory yet? This webinar aims to help professionals working with children, young people and families understand why.

Trauma-Informed Caregiving for Residential Care Staff

This one-day course for residential carers is designed to be an informative, interactive and interesting way for carers to learn more about caring for children who have experienced early trauma, abuse or neglect.

It provides an in-depth overview of the knowledge and strategies incorporated within therapeutic caring.

Supporting Traumatised Children in School

This half-day course is designed to provide teachers and school support workers with an overview of attachment and trauma, and how this may impact some children in school. It also includes practical strategies for supporting children who have experienced early adversity and trauma in a school setting.

Understanding and Supporting Parents/Carers in Blocked Care

This 1-day training course for professionals aims to help social workers or support workers understand the research and theory behind blocked care, as well as provide practical strategies for assessing and supporting adopters experiencing blocked care in their family situations. It also helps enhance knowledge of good practice for how social workers can respond and intervene in order to work through indications of blocked care.

Bespoke training

We regularly develop bespoke training courses depending on an organisation’s needs. We can deliver bespoke courses in-person or online, or at our specialist training facility in Stoke-on-Trent. Training packages

If you wish to block-book a selection of training programmes, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us. We would be happy to recommend a training pathway to suit the needs of your team. This may include existing training programmes or bespoke courses individualised for your organisation.

We can also provide consultation packages, providing ongoing support to your organisation or team after a training course has concluded. For example, some organisations choose to arrange monthly consultation sessions with staff to help support and develop knowledge and skills for supporting children with additional needs.

There are a variety of ways to access our training services. If you wish to book on to a session as an individual, please view our upcoming events. You will find more details on how to apply on the specific event page.

If you want to book a dedicated training course for your team, please get in contact with us for a quote. It would be helpful for us to know if you would prefer us to deliver your training programme face-to-face or virtually, and your expected numbers.

For our live, interactive courses, each participant will need a laptop or tablet device, webcam, microphone and an internet connection. Mobile phones can be used, but they do not offer the best possible experience for the participant.

We typically host our live virtual courses on Zoom.

Yes, we offer a range of options to help provide ongoing support to your team.

Please get in touch with us to talk about your consultation requirements, such as frequency, your goals and the type of families your organisation works with (or the difficulties they typically experience). We will work with you to create a bespoke consultation package that works for your needs.

Cost is dependent on the type of course you are accessing, in addition to the length and number of clinicians presenting. Please take a look at the individual course pages for more information.
