Newsflashes
Reduction in Fair Access Limit
The Department for Education has reduced the Fair Access Limit for the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund from £5,000 to £3,000 per child per year, now covering both therapy and assessment costs within the same cap. This significant funding cut risks limiting timely access to essential and tailored therapeutic support for vulnerable children and their families.
The ASF has been rebranded
The Adoption Support Fund (ASF) has now rebranded to the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund (ASGSF). This is to help ensure that more eligible kinship carers are aware of their ability to access this funding. The coincides with a recent publication by the Department for Education (DfE) of the Kinship Care Strategy.
ASGSF Outcome Measures
The Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund has announced that they will now be collecting outcome measures on a national basis. This means that all therapy cases will need an outcome measure. We will generally be using Thinking About Your Child – Revised. Contact us if you have any questions.
