DESCRIPTION:When you’re caring for an adopted child\, fostering\, or supporting a child as a special guardian\, you may sometimes hear people say things like: “They were adopted as a baby\, so they’ll be fine!” It’s natural to wonder how a child could have experienced trauma if they were removed from birth or very early on. We know this isn’t the whole story. It has been carefully developed to help you understand how very early experiences — even before birth or in the first months of life — can affect a child’s brain and development. You’ll also learn more about how children and young people can be supported when they’ve had these kinds of early experiences. \nThe session takes place online via Zoom. \nWho is it suitable for?\nThis training programme is designed for parents\, carers\, and special guardians who are looking after children and young people who may have experienced trauma.
