SUMMARY:Working with Resistance (Sept 2026)
DESCRIPTION:This training is designed to support professionals to develop a deeper\, more compassionate understanding of resistance in work with children\, young people and families. Rather than viewing resistance as a barrier or lack of cooperation\, the workshop reframes it as a meaningful and often protective response shaped by trauma\, attachment\, power dynamics and previous experiences of services. \nParticipants will explore how resistance can present in everyday practice\, including avoidance\, disengagement\, hostility or apparent compliance without change. The training supports professionals to strengthen confidence in responding to resistance in ways that preserve relationships\, reduce escalation and promote meaningful engagement\, particularly within statutory\, safeguarding and high-pressure contexts. \nThis training is suitable for professionals working across social care\, education\, health and therapeutic services\, including social workers\, clinicians\, family support workers\, residential staff and school-based professionals. \nPurchase Your Ticket\nTraining details:\n\nDate: 24 September 2026\nTime: 9:00-12:00\nHours: 3 hours\nCost: £60 + VAT per person\nPayment options: Purchase by card or to pay by invoice\, please contact training@gateway-psychology.co.uk \n\n\nPurchase Your Ticket\n  \nIf you would like to buy multiple places (10+)\, please contact our training team.
